About the Blue Mountain Recreation Commission

The Blue Mountain Intergovernmental Recreation Commission is the largest intergovernmental, or cooperative recreation program in the state of Pennsylvania. In 1968, the five boroughs, Auburn; Cressona; Deer Lake; New Ringgold and Orwigsburg along with the four townships, East and West Brunswick; North Manheim and Wayne signed an agreement with the Blue Mountain School District to form what is currently the Blue Mountain Int. Recreation Commission. Our mission in the community is simple: to provide the citizens of the Blue Mountain area the opportunities to participate in a quality municipal recreation program.

The Recreation Commission is a community partnership between: Auburn Borough, Cressona Borough, Deer Lake Borough, East Brunswick Township, New Ringgold Borough, North Manheim Township, Orwigsburg Borough, Wayne Township, West Brunswick Township & the Blue Mountain School District. Residents of participating municipalities listed above, qualify for discounted Resident rates. All others would incur Non-Resident rates.

The Blue Mountain Recreation Commission offers a variety of programs for youth and adults throughout the school year and during the summer season. The Recreation Commission utilizes facilities throughout the Blue Mt. School District including school building gyms , classrooms & sports fields and community buildings, parks and sports fields. Our website (
