THE BLUE MOUNTAIN RECREATION COMMISSION IS CURRENTLY HIRING FOR THE FOLLOWING FULL-TIME POSITIONS:
Job Title: Recreation & Sports Supervisor (Full-Time)
Location: Blue Mountain Recreation Commission. Orwigsburg, PA.
Job Summary: The Recreation & Sports Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing and managing all non-aquatic recreation programs including youth and adult sports leagues, clinics, camps and the Summer Playground Program. The role also supports community events and supervises part time and seasonal staff to ensure safe, inclusive, and engaging recreational experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
-Coordinate and manage recreation programs and special events.
-Hire, train and supervise part-time staff, including playground staff and gym attendants
-Manage youth and adult sports leagues including scheduling, publicity, registration, etc.
-Organize youth sports clinics and camps, and coordinate with coaches and volunteers
-Direct the Summer Playground Program across current community sites with goal for expansion.
-Conduct site and staff evaluations to ensure standards are met.
-Collaborate with school district personnel and community partners.
Qualifications:
-Experience in parks and recreation, sports leagues, or youth programming
-Strong leadership and organization skills
-Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and relevant software (MyRec, When2Work, ML Schedules).
-Certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED. CPSI & CPRP are a plus
-Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
-Ability to lift, transport, and carry equipment and supplies.
-Current Criminal History, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Fingerprinting at the time of application.
-Completion of Mandated Reporter Training within 30 days of hire.
Salary & Benefits:
$40,000 - $47,000 (commensurate with experience)
Full benefits package including health, dental, vision, and PSERS retirement.

SWIM LESSON INSTRUCTORS/WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTORS
The Blue Mountain Recreation Commission is currently looking for individuals (15 and older) to instruct during our popular Swim Lesson Program! Are you interested in teaching children a life skill? Must possess the ability to swim all 4 strokes, be 15 years old. W.S.I. certification preferred but not required. Evenings and/or Saturday mornings at the Middle School Pool.
CPR/First Aid certification preferred, but can be obtained upon hire.

CHILDCARE STAFF
Location: Blue Mountain East Elementary and Blue Mountain West Elementary
Hours: 6:30 am - 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, with full and part time positions available.

BMRC Childcare is a DHS licensed childcare program with positions available at the Group Supervisor and Assistant Group Supervisor level. We hire year round, with part time hours available during the school year and full time hours available for a 10 week camp during summer.
This job is ideal for college students in Human Services fields looking for paid experience or internship hours, and individuals with paid childcare experience or a degree in a Human Services field. Staff are expected to engage positively with students at all times, participating in and coordinating activities throughout the day and accompanying students on summer outings..
