"Where curious minds discover, design and create across science, technology, engineering and art."

DaVinci STEM Academy introduces elementary students to STEM through interactive, project-based learning. Students design, build and create across coding, robotics, engineering and art technology, using modules developed by professionals across the fields of Science and Art, to develop problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
Classes will be available for Blue Mountain students in grades K-2 and grades 3-5, allowing instructors to scale learning to students' developmental levels and build on progressive learning throughout Elementary school.
Please note below that you are choosing the correct building and correct grade level for your student when enrolling
Grade K-2 Programming:
1. Let's Bee Coders: Students will work collaboratively to define problems and design solutions using a Bee-Bot (r) programmable floor robot. Solve mazes, produce art, and retell stories using coding, programming and engineering. These activities are designed to challenge students' observational and analytical skills while working toward a common goal in an inclusive, creative and fun environment.
2. Secret Life of Seeds: There's a wild and wonderful world right outside your window, waiting to be discovered. Dive deeply into understanding how plants depend on animals and their environments to survive. Work with your friends to build a model to determine how animals help disperse seeds. Put your designs to the test through our brand new animal obstacle course and take home seeds you can plant in your yard or local park!
Grade 3-5 Programming:
1. Paws of Attraction: The dog shelter needs our help! We'll create doors that let the dogs in... and keep other critters out! Using magnets in their designs, students will explore attraction, repulsion, and relative strength. This workshop combines physics, the engineering design process, problem-solving, and peer collaboration.
Note: This module is developed based on "Engineering Magnetic Dog Doors" developed by Youth Engineering Solutions/Museum of Science, Boston, Ma.
2. Music to my Ears: Can you hear me now?? Get ready to become the sound engineer for a new and upcoming artist, YOU! Figure out how sound works through a series of hands-on experiments. Build instruments and amphitheaters to amplify your music. Head to the recording studio to combine your knowledge and creativity to put on the best show ever!
Note: This module was designed by the Museum of Science, Boston, Ma.
