The summer playground program takes a field trip once per week. Playground sites are closed during field trip days, and these trips are optional for an additional cost.
* Only those children already registered in our summer playground program (Albright's Woods, Auburn or Cressona Picnic Grove) are eligible to register for these trips. *
* TRIP 1: Glow Bowling at Strike Zone Alleys (Friday, June 23) *
COST: $15 per person
DEADLINE: 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 16
DEPARTURE: 9:45 a.m. - Auburn Playground
10:00 a.m. - Blue Mountain Middle School (Orwigsburg playground)
10:15 a.m. - Cressona Elementary (Cressona playground)
RETURN: Approximately 2:45 p.m. - Cressona Elementary (Cressona playground)
Approximately 3:00 p.m. - Blue Mountain Middle School (Orwigsburg playground)
Approximately 3:15 p.m. - Auburn Playground
INFORMATION: The summer playground program will travel to Strike Zone Alleys in Pottsville on June 23 for a day of glow bowling. Participants can bring a lunch or purchase food at the Strike Zone concession stand. Participants are also reminded to wear their playground trip t-shirt, socks, sneakers or similar soft-soled shoes. NO SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS.
Cost of $15.00 includes transportation, bowling shoes, and games bowled. All participants must bowl at least two games minimum.The arcade will be open for the last hour of the trip, so if participants want to play in the arcade, they must bring money.
* TRIP 2 - Roller Roost Sports Arena (Thursday, June 23) *
COST: $10 per person
DEADLINE: 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21
DEPARTURE: 10:00 a.m. - Blue Mountain Middle School (Orwigsburg playground)
10:15 a.m. - Cressona Elementary (Cressona playground)
RETURN: Approximately 2:45 p.m. - Cressona Elementary (Cressona playground)
Approximately 3:00 p.m. - Blue Mountain Middle School (Orwigsburg playground)
INFORMATION: The summer playground program will travel to the Roller Roost Sports Arena in Pottsville on June 23 for a day of roller skating, basketball and laser tag. Participants can bring a lunch or purchase food at the Roller Roost concession stand (hot dogs, pizza, soft pretzels, popcorn, drinks, etc.). Participants are also reminded to wear their playground trip t-shirt, socks, sneakers or similar soft-soled shoes. NO SANDALS OR FLIP FLOPS.
Cost of $10.00 includes transportation, roller skates and laser tag equipment. There will be roller skating in the full rink for the first two hours, while the rink will be divided for skating and/or basketball during the third hour. The arcade will be open as well, so if participants want to play in the arcade, they must bring money (games are $0.50 and $1.00 apiece).
WAIVER REMINDER: The Roller Roost requires each parent/guardian to fill out an online liability waiver prior to the trip. You will be emailed out a link a few days before the trip that you must complete by Wednesday, June 22 at 12:00 p.m. (link on the Roller Roost's website - https://rollerroostsportsarena.weebly.com/waivers.html). You may do this at any time and it is strongly encouraged that you fill out the online waiver immediately after registering your child for this trip. NOTE: If you've already been at the Roller Roost and filled out an online waiver in the past, you DO NOT have to fill another one out.
* TRIP 3 - Cressona Pool Swim Day (Wednesday, June 29) *
COST: $10 per person
-$5 per person if you have a season pool pass at the Cressona Pool
DEADLINE: 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 27
DEPARTURE: 10:00 a.m. - Blue Mountain Middle School (Orwigsburg playground)
10:30 a.m. - Kids get dropped off at the pool (Cressona playground)
RETURN: Approximately 3:00 p.m. - Kids get picked up at the pool (Cressona playground)
Approximately 3:30 p.m. - Blue Mountain Middle School (Orwigsburg playground)
INFORMATION: The summer playground program will spend a fun-filled day at the Cressona Pool on Wednesday, June 29. Bus transportation will be provided for Orwigsburg kids, while Cressona kids will need to be dropped off and picked up at the pool. Each camper will also get one complimentary Slush Puppy included in their trip fee.
Participants are also reminded to wear their playground trip t-shirt, in addition to bringing/wearing a bathing suit, towel and sunscreen. You can bring your own lunch and a drink or bring money to purchase items at the pool's concession stand.
Do NOT bring masks, fins, snorkels, inner tubes/inflatable items, balls or glass containers.
Upon arrival, every kid must take a swim test with our certified lifeguards. If they pass the swim test, they will be able to access the deep end of the pool. If they do not pass the swim test, they must remain in the shallow end of the pool.
* TRIP 4 - Movie Day at Fox Berkshire (Thursday, July 7) *
COST: $20 per person (includes popcorn, gummy candy and drink)
DEADLINE: 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5
DEPARTURE: 9:00 a.m. - Cressona Elementary (Cressona playground)
9:15 a.m. - Blue Mountain Middle School (Orwigsburg playground)
RETURN: Immediately after the conclusion of the movie

Approximately 1:30 p.m. - Cressona Elementary (Cressona playground)
INFORMATION: The summer playground program will travel to Fox Berkshire Theater in Wyomissing on July 7 for a day at the movies. The movie we will be seeing is "Minions: The Rise of Gru." Participants can bring a lunch or bring money to purchase concession items at the concession stand. Participants are also reminded to wear their playground trip t-shirt.
Cost of $20.00 includes transportation, movie ticket and a complimentary popcorn, drink and gummy candy.
* TRIP 5 - Freefall Trampoline Park (Wednesday, July 13) *
COST: $25 per person
DEADLINE: 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11
DEPARTURE: 9:15 a.m. - Cressona Elementary (Cressona playground)
9:30 a.m. - Blue Mountain Middle School (Orwigsburg playground)
RETURN: Approximately 3:15 p.m. - Blue Mountain Middle School (Orwigsburg playground)

INFORMATION: The summer playground program will travel to Freefall Trampoline Park in Bethlehem on July 13. Participants should bring a packed lunch and drink, as food/drink will not be provided at the facility. Participants are also reminded to wear their playground trip t-shirt.
IMPORTANT: All participants must wear "Grip Socks." If you've been to Freefall or another trampoline park in the past, you can bring Grip Socks with you if you have them. Otherwise, you can purchase them for $3.00 at Freefall the day of the trip. Due to health and safety protocols, you will not be permitted to jump barefoot this year.
Cost of $25.00 includes transportation, and two hours of unlimited access to the entire facility (main court, dodgeball, dunk hoops, airbag, battle beams, extreme air, ropes course and meltdown).

* TRIP 6 - Knoebels Amusement Resort (Tuesday, July 19) *
COST: $45 per person
* This ticket price include all rides, except for the Haunted Mansion *

INFORMATION: The summer playground program will travel to Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg on July 19 for a day full of fun, food and fantasy. Participants are also reminded to wear their playground trip t-shirt and comfortable footwear/sneakers. Any child not wearing his/her t-shirt will not be allowed on the bus. It is also strongly encouraged to bring sunscreen with you.
Cost of this trip includes transportation and your ride ticket/wristband. Your ride ticket/wristband will give you access to all rides within your height limit, including the wooden roller coasters. The only ride that is not included is the Haunted Mansion. If you would like to go in the Haunted Mansion, you must buy $3.00 in tickets at the park. The Crystal Pool and water area will not be accessible during this trip.
Lunch will not be provided so you can either bring a packed lunch with you or you can bring money to purchase food at the park. If you would like to purchase souvenirs, play in the arcades or play games, you must bring additional money with you.
Our group will be staged at Pavilion D in the park.
* TRIP 7 - Camelbeach Outdoor Waterpark (Thursday, July 28) *
COST: $50 per person (includes an $15 meal voucher)
DEADLINE: 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 25
DEPARTURE: 8:30 a.m. - Cressona Elementary (Cressona playground)
8:45 a.m. - Blue Mountain Middle School (Orwigsburg playground)
RETURN: Approximately 6:30 p.m. - Blue Mountain Middle School (Orwigsburg playground)

INFORMATION: The summer playground program will travel to Camelbeach Outdoor Waterpark in Tannersville on July 28. This is one of our most popular trips!
Cost of this trip includes transportation, your waterpark ticket and a $15 food voucher that you can use in the park. Your ticket gives you unlimited use of all water attractions, including water slides, family activity pool, adventure river, tube slides, wave pool, etc.
Lunch will not be provided, but you will be given an $15 meal voucher that you can use while in the park. Meal choices include: chicken fingers, hot dog or hamburger/cheeseburger, with French fries and a soda/water).
WHAT TO WEAR/BRING: Participants are also reminded to wear their playground trip t-shirt to access the park. Any child not wearing his/her t-shirt will not be allowed on the bus. In addition, it is recommended you wear your bathing suit to the trip and bring a dry change of clothes to return home in. Please bring a towel and sunscreen with you, as well as any additional money you may need to purchase other concessions/items at the park.
As a group, we will have reserved picnic tables under a pavilion to leave bags and any personal belongings throughout the day. Please only bring what you need into the park!
This outing is designed for older playground participants. There are height restrictions for some attractions at the park. Younger or smaller children may not be able to ride some of the water attractions. Parents - please keep this in mind when registering your child.
* TRIP 8 - Reading Phillies Baseball Game (Tuesday, August 2) *
CAMP DAY: vs. Hartford Yard Goats
FIRST PITCH: 11:00 a.m.
COST: $20 per person (includes bagged lunch at the game -- hot dog, apple, snack, drink, bag of chips)
DEADLINE: 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26
DEPARTURE: 9:00 a.m. - Cressona Elementary (Cressona playground)
9:15 a.m. - Blue Mountain Middle School (Orwigsburg playground)
RETURN: Immediately following the game

INFORMATION: The summer playground program will travel to First Energy Stadium in Reading on August 2 for the Reading Phillies baseball game vs. the Hartford Yard Goats. Our seats are mainly undercover, but it is still recommended you bring sunglasses and sun screen. A baseball glove to catch foul balls is optional. Participants are also reminded to wear their playground trip t-shirt. Any child not wearing his/her t-shirt will not be allowed on the bus.
Cost of $20.00 includes transportation, game ticket, and a bagged lunch. If you would like any other concession items or souvenirs, you must bring extra money with you.
